Tile was painted in 1998. I had gone back to Darwin and I was working evenings. I would work on it between 10pm – 2am. I was inspired by one of my mother’s nursing books in which I came across some pictures of surgical tools. I wanted to create a darker-themed picture and one that was more technically advanced. Each tile on the wall has been eaten away to make its own abstract picture.
